Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is an intelligent platform for travel and spend management, automating bookings, expenses, and invoice processing for over 12,000 companies globally. The company has grown to 1,800+ employees across 12 offices, with headquarters in London and Boston. You will own Perk's US and UK media strategy and presence, serving as the primary point of contact for journalists and the internal expert on both media landscapes. This is a high-impact role focused on establishing Perk as a leading voice in major business and financial press. Key responsibilities include: • Lead day-to-day PR activity: proactive pitching, newsjacking, reactive press office work, and crisis communications across US and UK markets. • Build Tier 1 relationships: cultivate genuine connections with journalists at WSJ, Bloomberg, FT, CNBC, Forbes and similar outlets, securing coverage and background briefings that build long-term credibility. • Shape corporate narrative: work with senior leadership to develop and maintain consistent, compelling messaging around company growth, financial performance, AI innovation, and platform positioning. • Drive executive profiling: partner with C-suite to build media profiles, craft commentary, prepare spokespeople for interviews, and develop proactive strategies that position executives in front of key journalists and audiences. • Translate tech and AI narratives: collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn complex AI and technology innovations into media-ready stories for mainstream business press. • Manage agency relationships: brief, manage, and hold US and UK PR agencies accountable to clear KPIs while building in-house capability. • Integrate AI tools: bring AI into daily PR operations—media monitoring, drafting, research, reporting—to increase speed and sharpness without sacrificing judgment or voice. You will work independently to own the US and UK programme while supporting the Director of Communications on corporate and financial priorities, collaborating across a global team and time zones. Required experience: extensive PR or corporate communications background with deep, existing relationships in Tier 1 US and UK financial and business press; proven track record securing earned coverage; financial communications expertise (funding rounds, M&A, business performance); ability to build compelling corporate narratives; direct experience working with senior leadership teams; strong agency management background; B2B technology, fintech, or SaaS background essential. Key skills: sharp editorial judgment; strong writing across press releases, bylines, executive commentary, and media briefings; confident media trainer and C-suite spokesperson coach; ability to work with data and shape it into pitchable narratives; commercially minded understanding of PR's impact on pipeline and competitive positioning; comfort integrating AI into PR workflows.
