Mixpanel is seeking a Senior PR & Communications Manager to build and lead the company's PR function from the ground up. Reporting to the Head of Communications & Content, you'll own day-to-day communications programs across media relations, product launches, and internal communications while managing agency partners across US, EMEA, and APAC regions.
Key responsibilities include cultivating relationships with journalists covering enterprise tech, analytics, AI, and SaaS; developing and executing PR strategies for major product announcements; managing external agency relationships and workflows; crafting internal communications in partnership with the People team; monitoring the media landscape for reputational issues; and supporting executive visibility through thought leadership, speaking opportunities, LinkedIn strategies, and bylined articles.
You'll serve as the primary media contact, help prepare spokespeople for interviews, develop compelling story angles and messaging frameworks, and ensure consistent, differentiated messaging across technical and business audiences. The role requires two days per week in either the San Francisco or New York office.
Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of communications experience, ideally with both in-house B2B tech and PR agency backgrounds. You should have deep familiarity with analytics, data, AI, or engineering spaces and the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling narratives. Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats (press releases, pitches, executive messaging, bylines, internal announcements, social content) are essential, along with strong verbal communication and confidence advising senior stakeholders. A track record of securing meaningful coverage in top-tier outlets, experience managing external agencies cross-functionally, comfort in ambiguous fast-moving environments, and journalism training or prior reporting/editing experience are highly valued.
