Salary: USD 200,000 - 225,000 / annual

As a Senior Platform Architect on the Technical Services team, you will be the accountable technical owner driving transformational outcomes from customer purchase through stable production. You'll turn complex challenges into scalable, repeatable solutions while shaping delivery patterns, operational standards, and enablement strategies that accelerate customer success.
Key responsibilities include:
**Production Readiness & Activation**: Own customers' scale-proof production readiness as a single point of accountability. Drive first production workflows and reduce time-to-production. Establish guardrails and best practices for reliability, failure handling, scaling, and upgrades. Make developers Temporal SDK experts and customer platform architects Temporal Server experts. Set up alerting, work on difficult tickets, identify activation blockers early, and optimize costs and performance.
**Technical Program Management**: Build and execute KPI-driven success plans tied to production outcomes. Define standards for patterns, training, governance, and operational readiness. Lead cross-functional coordination across Professional Services, Support, Partners, and internal teams using project management to ensure on-time delivery. Proactively manage technical risk, migrations, and architectural debt.
**Long-Term Technical Health**: Set and validate reliability, observability, and operational standards. Monitor health signals and intervene proactively. Lead technical reviews, readiness checkpoints, and maturity assessments. Certify teams and workloads as production-ready.
**Adoption & Growth**: Surface growth signals based on usage, maturity, and confidence. Partner with customers, Growth AEs, and Solution Architects to unlock new workloads. Translate production success into technical narratives for renewal and growth. Advocate for customer needs internally.
Required qualifications: 6+ years professional software engineering or solutions engineering experience; strong understanding of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and reliability engineering; proficiency in Go, Java, TypeScript, or Python; experience building and operating production systems at scale; ability to debug complex issues and guide customers; strong customer-facing and communication skills; experience creating documentation and training materials; self-motivated and collaborative.
Nice-to-haves: Temporal or workflow orchestration platform experience; observability tools expertise; professional services or consulting background; Kubernetes and cloud platform experience; open-source contributions; technical training delivery experience.
Must reside in Western Time Zone. Occasional travel required for customer engagements and team events.
