Fonoa is a Tax Operating System company that uses AI to automate indirect tax compliance. The company serves major clients including Canva, Netflix, Spotify, Uber, Zoom, and Booking.com. As Senior People Partner, you will be a strategic HR business partner reporting to the Chief People Officer. You'll own the people relationship for a defined set of business leaders and their teams, serving as the first point of contact for people issues, performance conversations, team dynamics, and management challenges. Key responsibilities include: - Partner directly with business leaders on performance, accountability, and team dynamics. Coach managers through difficult conversations and help prevent issues from escalating. - Own employee relations cases end-to-end across US and EU markets, from early intervention through resolution, managing risk while maintaining fairness. - Design and build people programmes from scratch, including onboarding, career frameworks, manager training, and culture initiatives that drive business outcomes. - Provide dedicated people partnering for US and EU employees with working knowledge of US and UK/EU employment law. - Help shape the People function as the company scales, bringing commercial credibility and business acumen to HR strategy. You'll need commercial credibility to hold your own with senior leaders, proven experience in high-growth companies where you've built (not just maintained) people functions, and hands-on experience owning performance and ER situations across multiple jurisdictions. You should have breadth across the people function—meaningful work in areas like performance frameworks, career development, L&D, onboarding, or culture—and the ability to context-switch effectively across multiple active situations. Strong working knowledge of US and UK/EU employment law is essential.
