Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility. The Senior People Business Partner, Engineering role is a strategic HR leadership position supporting the engineering organization through rapid growth.
You will serve as a dedicated consultant to engineering leadership, aligning people strategies with technical roadmaps and organizational objectives. Key responsibilities include organizational design and headcount planning to ensure efficient scaling, employee relations management, and direct coaching to managers at all levels on effectiveness and team health. You'll collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Recruiting, Total Rewards, Talent Management, Mobility) to design and deploy programs tailored to technical and fast-growing teams.
The role emphasizes proactive problem-solving and systems thinking—not just identifying issues but building preventative infrastructure. You'll leverage people analytics (attrition, engagement, performance metrics) to influence leadership decisions and provide practical solutions. You'll execute essential People team deliverables while continuously improving processes, identifying automation opportunities, and implementing scalable solutions. Operational excellence across the full employee lifecycle (hire to retire) and strict compliance with local and federal laws are core expectations.
This is a full-time, on-site position at Archer's San Jose headquarters, requiring five days per week in-office collaboration with leaders and teams. The role demands strong critical thinking, the ability to manage high-volume complex workloads in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to maintain confidentiality while working independently on diverse issues.
Required: 5+ years of relevant HR experience and a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field. Bonus qualifications include startup environment experience and aerospace or aviation industry background.
