Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to drive the development of lunar technologies and missions. You will work within the Advanced Programs group, leading early-stage mission concept definition, long-term technology roadmapping, and hands-on development of breakthrough technologies for next-generation lunar landers, surface systems, and spacecraft. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and review concepts and designs for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft - Perform system-level analysis and first-order sizing of space systems - Develop full spacecraft-level vehicle configurations in CAD, including preliminary structural analysis, packaging, and sizing from launch through surface operations - Design spacecraft structures for lunar landers, orbiters, and rovers - Conduct preliminary mechanical design and analysis, including deployment fixtures, stability assessments, and terramechanics evaluations - Design and assess payload and subsystem accommodations within complex spacecraft - Contribute to programmatic planning including schedules, resourcing, and budget estimation - Communicate across engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to resolve technical risks - Participate in customer visits and technical interchange meetings - Translate customer requirements into actionable product goals and system architectures for proposals and stakeholder presentations - Lead cross-functional team meetings to ensure solutions align with mission, business needs, and technology roadmap - Develop trade studies supporting technical, business, and programmatic decision-making - Develop system-level technical vision for new products, connecting customer needs with feasible solutions Required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline plus 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience). Demonstrated experience developing complex mechanical systems at scale, conducting preliminary structural analysis of space systems, and working in space system development, systems engineering, structure/thermal design, mechanical/fluid systems, or manufacturing. Experience developing technical content for proposals and customer presentations, authoring and decomposing mission/system-level requirements, and strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments. Desired: End-to-end mission solution understanding, mission architecture development experience, software scripting for automation and analysis, knowledge of NASA/industry engineering standards, and agile environment experience.
