Sweetgreen seeks a Senior Marketplace Marketing Manager to own third-party delivery strategy across DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. This is a strategic and operational role for someone with deep expertise in marketplace channels and a track record of building channel strategy from first principles.
You will define Sweetgreen's overarching marketplace strategy, staying ahead of platform algorithm changes, new ad products, and competitive dynamics. You'll develop internal evaluation methodologies and KPIs to measure marketplace success, then build the reporting infrastructure to surface insights from platform trends, cohort behavior, and menu mix analysis.
Ownership spans the full marketing budget across all three platforms—sponsored listings, in-app placements, push notifications, and promotional mechanics. You'll design a promotional architecture that drives incremental volume without eroding margin, and own the digital shelf experience: menu architecture, item visibility, photography standards, and category sequencing.
You'll manage a marketplace agency, partner with Culinary and Brand on new item launches and LTOs, and serve as Sweetgreen's primary relationship owner with DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub account teams. Cross-functional collaboration is essential: you'll work with Finance on marketplace P&L, Tech and Operations on implementation, Legal and Finance on commission structures and compliance, and Digital, Growth, and Loyalty teams as the internal third-party delivery expert.
Desired traits include strong data-driven instincts, strategic clarity in ambiguous situations, skilled communication with senior leadership, operational rigor, and genuine intellectual curiosity about platform dynamics. You should be a collaborative partner able to influence without formal authority.
Required: 10+ years in marketplace or third-party delivery marketing with hands-on expertise across all three platforms. Demonstrated ability to build channel strategy independently, fluency in platform advertising consoles and promotional mechanics, strong analytical capability, experience in restaurant or high-volume retail, proven track record managing significant media budgets and influencing executives, and a bachelor's degree.
