Wave is a mobile money platform on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. The company provides financial services—cash deposits, withdrawals, peer-to-peer payments, and business payments—with no account fees, instant availability, and broad merchant acceptance. Operating across 9 African countries with millions of users, Wave is expanding rapidly in Côte d'Ivoire.
As Senior Marketing Manager, you will report to the Head of Marketing for Côte d'Ivoire and own two core pillars: Market Intelligence & Consumer Insights, and Sponsoring & Brand Partnerships. This is an individual contributor role with significant strategic and execution responsibility.
Market Intelligence & Consumer Insights: You will design and manage local research initiatives including consumer surveys, usage and attitude studies, competitor tracking, and category analyses. Working with external research agencies, you'll synthesize data from multiple sources—internal dashboards, market data, field findings, qualitative research—into actionable recommendations. You'll be the team's expert on consumer behavior and business dynamics in Côte d'Ivoire, proactively surfacing trends and market shifts that could shape positioning, messaging, or activation. You'll build working knowledge of marketing performance data, navigate BI tools independently, and manage research suppliers rigorously.
Sponsoring & Brand Partnerships: You will develop and execute Wave's sponsorship strategy for Côte d'Ivoire, identifying strategic properties across sports, culture, community, and trade events. You'll lead negotiations and contract management end-to-end, maximize impact through both above-the-line visibility and below-the-line activation, and build a portfolio of brand partnerships aligned with Wave's positioning. You'll track performance and ROI rigorously, coordinate with global brand, growth, and in-country commercial teams, and drive complex cross-functional initiatives through structured planning and stakeholder management.
The role requires work authorization in Côte d'Ivoire and is permanent. Wave offers competitive salaries, health insurance for you and dependents, generous parental leave (26 weeks for mothers, 4 weeks for fathers), subsidized childcare, gym subsidies, airtime reimbursement, and office amenities.
