Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in shaping manufacturing design for the Altius product line—a family of tube-launched, autonomous drones. You will work at Arsenal-1, Anduril's hyper-scale manufacturing facility in Ashville, Ohio, south of Columbus in Pickaway County.
In this role, you will own the manufacturing value chain for critical defense systems, from initial prototyping through full-scale production. Your responsibilities span Design for Manufacturability (DFM), tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and collaboration, quality planning, and production documentation. You will serve as a manufacturing liaison between design engineers and production teams, ensuring best practices are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include: executing manufacturing strategies for product families; collaborating with design engineers to drive DFM principles early in development; owning critical documentation (MBOMs, work instructions, requirements); advising on quality management and business application programs; defining capacity planning to meet customer needs; analyzing metrics for continuous improvement (cost reduction, quality improvement, capacity increase); fostering innovation and accountability within the team; developing production and test methodologies to enable scaling; and traveling to suppliers and partner sites for sourcing, problem-solving, and process implementation.
You will have the opportunity to train under Anduril's world-class manufacturing teams at HQ in Costa Mesa, CA (1 month) and Atlanta, GA (2 months) before bringing that standard of excellence back to Ohio. Housing and transportation are provided during the training period.
Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or hard science; 5+ years in manufacturing or similar prototyping roles; demonstrated world-class mission assurance, quality focus, and attention to detail; genuine interest in manufacturing and continuous learning; ability to creatively deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments; and hands-on experience with physical hardware and manufacturing processes.
