Checkout.com is a global fintech payments platform processing over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion shoppers worldwide. The company powers checkout experiences for major brands including eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony, with 20 offices across six continents. You will lead accounting operations and regulatory reporting efforts for the Atlanta office, reporting to the Americas Controller. This is a strategic role in the company's US expansion, requiring ownership of financial controls, compliance with state and federal regulations, and building scalable financial processes. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment with a hands-on leadership approach. Key responsibilities include: - Lead preparation and ownership of entity-level management accounts for internal decision-making and external reporting - Manage oversight, preparation, and timely submission of all required regulatory filings (quarterly and annual) - Drive the regional financial audit process and serve as liaison for external auditors - Perform reconciliations to regulatory and external filings - Serve as primary accounting contact with US regulators - Collaborate with Treasury and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance The role operates on a hybrid model with three days per week in the Atlanta office to support collaboration and connection. Requirements: - 8+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, regulatory, and/or SEC reporting - Bachelor's degree in accounting - Public accounting experience and active CPA license - Expert-level knowledge of US GAAP with ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards - Experience dealing with regulators in a senior management capacity - Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and due diligence - Strong leadership and communication skills with proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives - Knowledge of IFRS is a plus - Direct experience with FinTech, Payments, or Banking is highly preferred - Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
