Checkout.com is a global fintech payments platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion shoppers. The company operates across 20 offices on six continents and is expanding aggressively in the US market.
You will lead accounting operations and regulatory reporting for the Atlanta office, reporting to the Americas Controller. This is a strategic role combining technical expertise with hands-on leadership to build scalable financial processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and own entity-level management accounts for internal decision-making and external reporting
- Oversee preparation and timely submission of all required regulatory filings (quarterly and annual)
- Drive the regional financial audit process and serve as liaison to external auditors
- Perform reconciliations to regulatory and external filings
- Serve as primary accounting contact with US regulators
- Collaborate with Treasury and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance
You will work in a hybrid model (three days per week in office) within a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment. The role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, regulatory, and/or SEC reporting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Active CPA license and public accounting experience
- Expert-level knowledge of US GAAP with ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards
- Experience dealing with regulators in a senior management capacity
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and due diligence
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Direct experience with FinTech, Payments, or Banking is highly preferred
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
