Plooto is a payment automation platform helping accountants, bookkeepers, and finance teams manage payables and receivables through approval workflows, audit trails, bulk payments, and automated reconciliation. The company serves busy entrepreneurs, finance teams, non-profits, and accounting firms across Canada. You will own Plooto's event strategy and execution end-to-end, reporting to the Director of Brand & Content Strategy. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role requiring fluidity between strategic planning and hands-on execution. Key responsibilities include: **Event Strategy:** Define which events Plooto should attend, sponsor, or host based on customer acquisition and retention potential. Evaluate ROI of owned and sponsored events in partnership with Demand Gen. Build and maintain an annual event calendar balancing local, regional, and national opportunities. Own the events budget and recommend critical event management technology platforms. **Event Logistics & Execution:** Manage pre-event planning end-to-end (budgets, timelines, vendor coordination, booth design, materials, staffing, logistics). Lead flawless on-site execution across all event scales, from 10-person lunch-and-learns to large conference sponsorships. Oversee owned events including local lunch-and-learns, client dinners, and office visits. **Cross-Functional Coordination:** Prepare leadership for speaking engagements and panels. Brief sales teams ahead of events to ensure productive prospect and client conversations. Partner with marketing to promote event participation before, during, and after. **Program Ownership:** Operate independently across the full event spectrum with minimal oversight. Track and report event performance against pipeline and utilization goals. Continuously refine processes and playbooks for efficiency. You bring 7+ years of event marketing, field marketing, or related B2B experience. You excel at both strategic planning and detail-obsessed execution, with exceptional project management skills in tools like Notion and Clickup. You're comfortable briefing executives, coordinating with sales, and aligning with marketing. You operate independently and own outcomes from strategy through execution. Based in Ontario with flexibility to travel for approximately 10-15 events annually (75% Canada-based, primarily Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal; occasional US travel). Experience in SaaS, fintech, or marketing to accountants/bookkeepers in Canada is a strong plus.
