Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Finance to own and build the company's financial planning infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of FP&A leadership, strategic planning, and executive reporting, with direct accountability for the company's three-statement financial model, annual operating plan (AOP), cash flow forecasting, and board-ready reporting. Key responsibilities include architecting and maintaining a fully integrated, scalable financial model grounded in operational drivers and unit economics; owning consolidated planning across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow (including equity planning, stock-based comp, and share count modeling); and leading the end-to-end AOP process with scenario modeling, sensitivities, and driver-based forecasting. You will translate production ramps, R&D investments, contract timing, government milestones, and go-to-market strategy directly into financial outcomes, maintaining a forward-looking view of risks, opportunities, capital needs, and strategic inflection points. Additional responsibilities include building and owning rolling cash flow forecasts across working capital, inventory, milestone payments, production cycles, and CapEx; modeling government contract payment timing and program cash profiles; creating board of directors and executive staff QBR materials with narratives, financial packages, and KPI dashboards; and partnering with data engineering and systems teams to evolve planning infrastructure from Excel into modern cloud-based planning tools. You will work closely with senior leaders across engineering, program management, operations, and business development to translate their plans into financial impacts and develop insights on unit economics, efficiency, scale, profitability, and capital allocation. Required qualifications: 8–10 years of experience with significant time in corporate FP&A; direct FP&A leadership experience in a publicly traded company; proven ownership of scalable three-statement models, AOP and long-range planning development, consolidated planning, and line-item ownership (including equity planning); ownership of company cash models and liquidity forecasting; exceptional Excel modeling capability with fluency in multi-scenario three-statement modeling and driver-based forecasting; strong GAAP proficiency; demonstrated ability to build board- and executive-ready materials; and comfort thriving in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with government contract economics, milestone-based revenue, and program accounting; experience with equity and stock-based comp planning; exposure to manufacturing scale and hardware production cycles; and experience implementing or scaling cloud-based planning tools (Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive).
