The IT Innovations team builds automations and integrations that enable Spring Health teams to move faster and focus on removing barriers to mental healthcare. As a Senior IT Systems Engineer, you will tackle the most complex work where requirements are ambiguous, systems are interdependent, and the right approach is not yet obvious. You will transform manual processes into reliable automations and establish patterns that guide the broader team's work.
Key responsibilities include designing and delivering complex, business-critical automations and integrations connecting Spring Health's core systems, including AI-powered and agentic workflows. You will choose technical approaches where no established pattern exists, document decisions for team replication, and provide recommendations with options, risks, and tradeoffs. You'll develop reusable patterns, shared components, and agent building blocks that other engineers build from, and drive adoption across IT.
You will guide how technical principles are applied—authentication, error handling, agent approval scopes, testing standards—and help shape new standards with Security and Compliance. You own monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production automations and agents, leading investigations when issues arise. You serve as the escalation point for IT Systems Engineers and the last escalation inside IT Innovations, reducing escalation volume through root-cause fixes and better tooling.
You will work as a technical peer on integration design across the company, building durable relationships with partners outside your area of expertise. You cultivate vendor and platform partner relationships, bringing insights back to the team. You support the growth of IT Systems Engineers through design review and pairing, helping colleagues build orchestration and AI agent fluency through training and documentation.
This is a full-time individual contributor role reporting to the Director, IT System Engineering.
