Ditto is a peer-to-peer data sync platform trusted by organizations like Chick-fil-A, Delta Airlines, and the U.S. military to enable resilient, real-time applications regardless of network conditions. The company has raised over $145 million and serves mission-critical use cases across aviation, retail, travel, hospitality, and defense.
As Senior IT Systems Engineer, you will drive automation across Ditto's IT operations, with a focus on infrastructure as code and reducing manual help desk work. Approximately 30% of your time will initially involve help desk support, but a core goal is to automate these functions away by building systems that enable the highly technical workforce to self-serve.
Key responsibilities include:
- Converting configuration management for key services to infrastructure as code, understanding business needs, approval workflows, and translating these into technical controls
- Leading the conversion of a GitHub Enterprise instance to use Enterprise Managed Users with a Terraform-driven configuration workflow
- Triaging and prioritizing automation projects based on ITSM statistics
- Collaborating with the security team to implement new security controls, system hardening, and monitoring
- Documenting system runbooks and inventory
While this is a remote position for the Atlanta area, occasional office visits are expected for special projects or troubleshooting, with no expectation of regular in-office work.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of relevant IT systems or infrastructure experience
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
- Strong Terraform expertise with ability to implement workflows and train others
- Experience with FleetDM for building policies and reports
- macOS and Linux desktop support and troubleshooting experience
- Proven track record defining and automating manual IT processes
- Strong understanding of identity management (SAML, OIDC, SCIM)
- Attention to quality, correctness, scale, and consistency
- Interest in process and procedures, not just task completion
NICE TO HAVES:
- Okta administration experience
- Python or other common scripting language proficiency
- Government or defense experience (CMMC, FedRAMP, or similar)
- Datadog experience with dashboard and alert building
- AWS, GCP, or similar cloud provider management
- Nix experience
- Tracecat or equivalent SOAR platform experience
