Salary: USD 205,785 - 242,100 / annual
Coinbase is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Manager to shape employee experience and reinforce the company's mission, strategy, and culture. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, partnering directly with executives and senior leaders to drive impactful storytelling and organizational change.
Key responsibilities include: defining and owning internal communications strategy for a portfolio of stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on messaging and timing; ensuring employees have the information and context needed to perform their roles; creating and improving systems—including AI-powered tools and workflows—that scale communications across a globally distributed, remote workforce; measuring communications program effectiveness using data for continuous improvement; developing deep understanding of company mission, strategy, and culture to reinforce across all communications; proactively identifying and implementing AI-native approaches to internal communications, from content creation and personalization to measurement and feedback loops; supporting and executing organization-wide and company-wide live events (drafting talking points, advising on event flow, preparing speakers); and partnering with internal and external communications teammates to drive proactive and reactive communications and coordinate internal issues management.
Required qualifications: 10+ years in internal, external, or corporate communications, media/journalism, or writing-intensive roles; excellent written and verbal communication skills prioritizing clarity and brevity; strong executive presence with demonstrated experience partnering with senior executives on communications initiatives and influencing stakeholders; demonstrated experience using AI tools to accelerate communications work (drafting, research, audience analysis, content testing) while maintaining human oversight; resilience and grit to maintain proactive posture amid rapid organizational change; experience communicating to highly distributed, remote workforces; exceptional organizational skills; ability to both generate ideas and implement them; ability to balance speed and quality; and enthusiasm for crypto with willingness to develop real fluency in the space.
