FalconX is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design and maintain ultra-low latency trading systems that power institutional access to crypto markets. This role sits at the intersection of traditional finance infrastructure and cutting-edge digital asset technology.
You will own the design, provisioning, and maintenance of low-latency AWS and hybrid network topologies, including VPCs, exchange gateways, and regional deployments. Key responsibilities include optimizing Linux OS kernels and compute performance using CPU isolation, AWS Cluster Placement Groups, and enhanced networking (ENA/ENI). You'll drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible, architect scalable systems for Exchange Market Making (EMM), Project Market Making (PMM), and TradFi exchange integrations, and build telemetry and monitoring pipelines using Grafana Cloud and Alloy.
Beyond individual contributions, you'll provide technical leadership by guiding the technical roadmap, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as an escalation lead for critical system incidents.
Required: 5+ years in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or SRE with focus on low-latency electronic trading environments. Deep expertise in Linux internals (kernel tuning, memory management, network I/O optimization), AWS low-latency constructs, trading protocols (FIX, Aeron), HFT workflows, Terraform and Ansible, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, routing), Docker/Docker Compose, Jenkins, and observability tools (Grafana Cloud, Prometheus).
Bonus: Python/Bash scripting, Rust or Java development, hardware acceleration (FPGAs, SmartNICs), PTP/IEEE 1588 clock synchronization.
