Remote is a global HR platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Specialist, Employee Relations role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as a trusted advisor to Remote's external clients on complex employment matters.
In this role, you will independently manage end-to-end employee exits and offboarding processes across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Separations:** Manage complex employee terminations, resignations, and redundancy processes while ensuring legal compliance and best practices. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. Draft and administer termination documents with precision, maintaining strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
**Employee Relations Support:** Provide first-level guidance on workplace concerns, conduct preliminary assessments of complex scenarios, and identify applicable local regulations. Serve as a trusted resource for internal and external stakeholders, guiding clients through progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements.
**Stakeholder Coordination:** Liaise with internal teams (payroll, legal, benefits, customer success) and external parties (legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions) to ensure compliant and timely administration of employee exits. Process offboarding through Remote's HRIS platform, coordinating across multiple verticals.
**Team Leadership & Process Improvement:** Mentor junior team members, providing expertise and guidance. Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives aligned with Remote's values and goals. Act as a trusted escalation point for complex cases.
This role requires deep knowledge of international employment law, excellent judgment in navigating competing stakeholder interests, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance across diverse regulatory environments.
