Remote is a global employment platform that enables businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
In this role, you will manage end-to-end employee exits and provide first-level employee relations support to Remote's external clients. Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Exits:** Manage complex employee separations across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring legal compliance and superior customer experience. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and employees regarding terminations, resignations, transfers, and redundancy processes. Negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations while balancing competing stakeholder interests. Draft and administer termination documents with strict attention to detail and privacy compliance. Process offboarding through Remote's HRIS platform, coordinating with payroll, legal, benefits, and other internal teams.
**Employee Relations:** Provide guidance on workplace concerns and HR matters. Conduct preliminary assessments of employee relations issues, identifying key facts and applicable local regulations. Support clients in understanding progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements. Monitor ongoing cases and ensure timely follow-up with relevant stakeholders.
**Cross-functional Collaboration:** Liaise with internal teams (Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits) and external stakeholders (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant and timely administration of employee exits. Serve as subject-matter expert on offboarding matters for both internal and external queries.
**Continuous Improvement:** Actively identify and contribute to process improvements, automation opportunities, and product development initiatives that enhance customer and employee experience.
The role requires expertise in global employment law, strong client management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate sensitive HR matters with professionalism and discretion. You'll work asynchronously with a distributed team across multiple continents, contributing to Remote's mission of making global employment accessible and compliant.
