Remote is a global HR platform that enables organizations to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
The specialist independently manages complex, end-to-end employee exits and offboarding processes across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Separations:** Manage all aspects of employee exits including terminations, resignations, transfers, and redundancy processes. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. Provide expert guidance on jurisdiction-specific employment law, termination procedures, and compliance requirements. Draft and administer termination documents and supplementary agreements with strict attention to detail and confidentiality.
**Employee Relations Support:** Serve as first-level ER resource, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating appropriate resources. Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identify applicable regulations, and recommend paths forward. Advise on progressive discipline, documentation requirements, and best practices for handling difficult situations.
**Stakeholder Coordination:** Liaise with internal teams (payroll, legal, benefits, customer success) and external parties (legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions) to ensure compliant offboarding. Process exits on Remote's HRIS platform and maintain employee records with strict privacy adherence.
**Team Leadership & Process Improvement:** Mentor junior team members, provide expertise and guidance, and drive process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals. Act as trusted escalation point for complex cases.
The role requires deep knowledge of global employment law, excellent judgment in navigating competing stakeholder interests, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer and employee experiences during sensitive transitions.
