Remote is a global HR compliance platform that enables businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as a trusted extension of clients' HR departments.
In this role, you will independently manage complex, end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision. You'll handle offboarding processes that prioritize legal compliance, quality, and exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include managing terminations, resignations, transfers, and redundancy processes; leading workforce reduction consultation meetings and administrative hearings; negotiating separation agreements; and ensuring strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
You will also provide first-level Employee Relations support, conducting preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying applicable local regulations, and guiding clients through complex workplace scenarios including progressive discipline and documentation requirements. You'll coordinate with internal stakeholders (payroll, legal, benefits, time and attendance) and external parties (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant and timely administration of all exit-related activities.
As a senior individual contributor, you'll mentor junior team members, provide expertise and guidance, and drive process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals. The role requires deep knowledge of employment law across key jurisdictions, excellent judgment in complex negotiations, and the ability to influence positive outcomes while managing competing stakeholder interests. You'll work asynchronously with a globally distributed team and leverage automation and AI capabilities in your daily work.
