Prefect is a remote-first company building resilient, Pythonic orchestration and MCP platforms used for mission-critical workloads. The company operates both open-source and commercial offerings, serving Fortune 500 companies, data innovators, and fast-growing startups. Prefect recently acquired Dagster, significantly expanding its developer community reach.
As Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you will own the complete funnel from audience awareness through signup, activation, and qualified pipeline generation across Prefect Cloud, Horizon, and Dagster. You'll report directly to the Chief Growth Officer and collaborate daily with Marketing, Sales, and Engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include: managing paid and organic acquisition end-to-end (budget, channel mix, landing pages, conversion rate optimization); building scalable, predictable funnels with clear baselines and conversion targets for priority motions (FastMCP to Horizon, self-serve signup to activation, website to inbound, open source to Cloud); designing and shipping onboarding, activation, and re-engagement sequences; establishing campaign taxonomy, UTM discipline, and clean data handoffs between HubSpot and Salesforce to enable rapid experimentation; and routing the FastMCP developer audience into Horizon accounts through in-product paths, documentation placements, and strategic CTAs.
You must have 7+ years in growth or demand generation at B2B SaaS or developer-focused companies with hands-on ownership throughout the funnel. You've generated predictable pipeline for both sales and self-serve motions, owned acquisition budgets with honest reporting on ROI, built attribution models from scratch (campaign taxonomy, UTM structure, funnel models), and shipped measured lifecycle sequences with documented before-and-after conversion improvements. You're comfortable being the sole person in your function, making strategic decisions, and shipping without a dedicated team.
Nice-to-have experience includes background at open-source or developer-tools companies, SQL proficiency and BI tool fluency (HubSpot, Salesforce, Amplitude, Common Room, Omni), experience managing product-led self-serve funnels alongside enterprise sales motions, and post-acquisition marketing stack integration.
This is an individual contributor role that will remain so for at least one year. It's not suitable for those seeking immediate team management, requiring pristine data before committing to outcomes, preferring agency partnerships, or expecting a stable roadmap. The role demands accountability for results while simultaneously improving underlying data infrastructure.
