Alpaca is a US-headquartered global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure serving hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries. The company provides institutional-grade APIs for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto, fixed income, and 24/5 trading, supporting over 10 million brokerage accounts. Backed by $400M in funding from top-tier investors including Spark Capital, Tribe Capital, and Y Combinator, Alpaca operates a globally distributed team of 400+ members.
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on Alpaca Connect, you will build developer-facing tools and services that enable partners to launch applications on the Alpaca platform. You will work across TypeScript and React frontends alongside Go backend services, focusing on improving partner onboarding, app management, compliance review, marketplace discovery, consent workflows, and permissions management. Your work will integrate these systems with Alpaca's identity, account, trading, and market data infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining Connect experiences in TypeScript/React with supporting Go services; improving app onboarding, testing, compliance review, approval, publishing, and management workflows; automating manual support and compliance processes into clear, auditable self-service experiences; designing APIs and integrations across distributed systems; and owning features end-to-end from design through production while helping shape the team's technical direction.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Compliance, Support, Partnerships, and Platform teams. The ideal candidate can translate complex requirements into secure, user-friendly product experiences and communicate effectively when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous.
Required qualifications include 5+ years building production full-stack applications, strong TypeScript and React skills, experience with Go or another modern backend language, strong SQL and PostgreSQL expertise, REST API design and distributed service integration experience, familiarity with OAuth/OIDC authorization systems, and a track record of delivering secure user-facing features end-to-end.
Nice-to-have experience includes developer platforms, partner portals, or marketplaces; compliance or operational workflows in regulated industries; GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or production observability; financial markets or brokerage systems; and startup or distributed remote team experience.
