Synthesia is the world's leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. The company raised $200 million in Series E funding at a $4 billion valuation, with backing from Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Website team, you will be a co-owner of the platform behind synthesia.io—the component library, content model, and rendering stack powering every marketing page. You'll shape technical direction and make key decisions with a focus area of your own while maintaining context across the whole system. This is a hands-on role where your primary output is high-quality component and schema code, plus tooling that enables others to build with the platform.
Millions of people visit synthesia.io monthly, making it a primary customer acquisition channel. You'll own the section library (Astro components, Sanity schemas, design tokens), design content models that resist misuse, and take Figma specs to production with responsive design, accessibility, and SEO integrity. You'll extend the platform for AI-assisted development, ensuring coding agents can generate on-brand sections reliably. You'll maintain localization across nine locales, raise engineering standards through code review and testing, and shape the technical direction over the next 6-12 months.
Required: at least five years as a software engineer with three at senior level building frontend for content-driven or marketing platforms. Deep expertise with Sanity content modeling (schemas, GROQ, Portable Text), expert-level HTML/CSS/TypeScript, and component API design. You must work end-to-end—comfortable with SSR, serverless, edge runtimes, API routes, SQL databases, and CI/CD. Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, web performance, and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility. You care about measuring marketing sites on performance, SEO, analytics, and conversion metrics.
Nice-to-haves include experience with large SaaS marketing websites at scale, Astro or islands frameworks, Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda, Tailwind CSS v4, token-based design systems, AI-consumable component libraries, strong design sensibility, and analytics/tag management implementation.
