CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join their team developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this role, you will own FPGA circuit and system design across all development phases, from initial design through verification, testing, and deployment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement FPGA circuits at the HDL level, including high-speed serial interfaces, data streams, digital processing cores, multi-clock domain management, and control interfaces
- Conduct comprehensive testing, validation, and verification of FPGA designs
- Develop and present engineering design review materials to customers and executive leadership
- Contribute to proposal-writing efforts and technical documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally in a dynamic startup environment
The ideal candidate brings:
- Proven experience in FPGA design, verification, test, and deployment at the HDL level
- Strong background in high-speed digital design and complex clock domain management
- Experience with digital signal processing or board-level hardware design (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting to customers and leadership
- Ability to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
This role is initially remote with a planned transition to in-person work in Melbourne, FL once the office is established. U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status is required to comply with government space technology export regulations.
