Monarch Money is a fully remote personal finance platform founded in 2021 that has become the top-recommended personal finance app by users and experts. The company is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to support scaling the finance function and report to the Head of FP&A. In this role, you will be central to the company's planning cadence, supporting the annual budget and quarterly re-forecast, maintaining the core operating model, and partnering with Accounting on monthly reporting and variance analysis. You'll own departmental financial alignment across Growth, Product, Engineering, People, and Customer Success, ensuring every team operates against a plan they understand and are accountable to. Key responsibilities include: Planning & Forecasting: Support annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting cycles, maintain and extend the three-statement financial model, and support long-range planning and scenario modeling for growth, hiring, and capital decisions. Business Partnership: Own departmental financial alignment by running recurring review cadences with each department leader on budget, spend, and headcount against plan. Serve as the finance approver in Zip for vendor and purchase requests, monitor spend in Ramp against plan, maintain the renewal calendar, and provide department leaders visibility into their committed and remaining budget. Proactively flag variances and emerging risks in-period and help non-finance leaders understand their numbers and connect spend to outcomes. Reporting & Analysis: Partner with Accounting through month-end close on accruals and plan-to-actual reconciliation. Produce variance analysis with written commentary explaining the why behind deltas. Prepare metrics, schedules, and narrative inputs for investor updates and board reporting. Take on ad-hoc analysis and build decks that frame decisions for leadership. Systems & Automation: Improve and automate recurring reporting in Aleph and Omni to reduce manual effort and increase self-serve capabilities for teams. You should bring 4+ years in FP&A or corporate finance with direct exposure to a full planning cycle. You build things other people can operate with advanced Excel/Google Sheets modeling skills. You're comfortable having difficult conversations with non-finance leaders about budget variances and can make complex financial concepts simple and accessible. You prefer flagging surprises early rather than presenting polished answers late, and you're comfortable building processes that don't yet exist. Nice-to-haves include experience in subscription, SaaS, or fintech businesses; SQL and BI tooling familiarity (Omni, Looker); modern ERP or planning tool experience (Rillet, NetSuite, Aleph, Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive); procurement or spend management tooling experience (Zip, Coupa, Airbase, Navan); and a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. Monarch offers competitive cash and equity compensation, a work-from-anywhere policy, a stipend for setting up your ideal working environment, competitive benefit plans based on location, unlimited PTO, and a monthly three-day weekend (First Friday off).
