Scopely, a leading video game and interactive entertainment company, is seeking an Accounting Associate to join its expanding Finance team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in-office). The role supports day-to-day accounting operations while driving continuous process improvement across the department.
Key responsibilities include performing monthly bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies; recording general ledger entries in compliance with local and group accounting policies; assisting with month-end close and GL reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely reporting; posting and reconciling intercompany transactions; maintaining the fixed assets register including asset postings and monthly depreciation; collaborating with the Accounts Payable team on reconciliations; providing support during external and internal audits; partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver financial and accounting insights; and contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of general accounting experience, prior experience in international environments across multiple entities, strong English communication skills (written and verbal), advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office proficiency, demonstrated analytical and detail-oriented capabilities with ability to manage multiple priorities, experience recording and maintaining accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassification entries, experience performing flux analysis and investigating period-over-period variances, team-oriented mindset, and ERP system experience.
Bonus qualifications include Oracle ERP experience, shared service center or centralized accounting function background, and experience in technology or similarly dynamic, multi-entity environments.
