Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights across physical operations including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.
In this role, you will partner closely with Samsara's R&D organization to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI infrastructure costs. Your primary responsibilities include analyzing financial results, preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting, and supporting financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership. You'll work with the Accounting team on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with Software and Firmware Engineering leaders to manage vendor spend and identify cost optimization opportunities
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial analysis and management reporting
- Support month-end close procedures and drive forecast models for accurate guidance to leadership and investors
- Collaborate with R&D teams on Annual Operating Plan (AOP) planning
- Improve accuracy and scalability of existing financial reporting and forecasting models
- Develop new mechanisms, analysis, or KPIs to inspect business performance
- Leverage AI tools to streamline financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows
- Build and maintain reporting and attribution frameworks to track and govern AI spend
You should have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, with high aptitude for complex problem-solving using financial modeling and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills. Experience at a high-growth tech company is required. You'll need strong cross-functional collaboration abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills comfortable with senior management audiences, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
This is a remote position open to candidates in the US or Canada. Relocation assistance is not provided.
