The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Finance Manager and play a key role in supporting Banyan's portfolio of high-quality software businesses. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to work across all aspects of finance operations, including revenue recognition, accounts payable, cash management, financial reporting, and systems. The role emphasizes being a "value-added" partner by leveraging financial data to drive shareholder value and support smart decision-making across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare timely and accurate GAAP financial statements, board reporting, budgets, and KPIs for operating companies
• Perform quality assurance on finance and accounting work products, including GL posting reviews, revenue recognition monitoring, and variance analysis
• Contribute to operational performance through budget-to-actuals analysis, portfolio benchmarking, and revenue/expense insights
• Partner with M&A colleagues to support financial and operational integration of acquisitions
• Implement process improvement initiatives from M&A business cases
• Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards for CEOs to monitor business performance
• Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote best practices across the portfolio
• Provide financial advice and guidance to business leaders as needed
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
• College degree in business, accounting, or finance (preferred)
• Accounting designation
• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with Sage Intacct and/or QuickBooks (asset)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Highly motivated and energetic with interest in entrepreneurship, software, and finance
