Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the physical backbone of AI—from power generation to data center operations. The company is solving the energy bottleneck constraining AI compute growth through an energy-first approach. You will lead external communications for Crusoe's Digital Infrastructure Group, Energy, and Real Estate organizations, driving the narrative around how and where the company builds AI factories at massive scale. This is a high-stakes, fast-moving role at the center of the company's most visible business lines. Key responsibilities include: - News Engine: Build a strategic news program demonstrating momentum across data center development, energy, and real estate work, creating a consistent cadence of high-impact media moments. - Media & Influencer Relations: Develop direct relationships with journalists covering infrastructure, energy, real estate, technology, and financial media. You will pitch and place stories independently without relying solely on agencies. - Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Public Affairs and Government Affairs teams to support community engagement in markets where Crusoe builds, ensuring local audiences and officials understand the company's investment and impact. - Narrative Development: Work with subject matter experts across DIG, Energy, and Real Estate to translate complex topics—site development, power, construction, data center operations—into compelling stories for diverse audiences. - Thought Leadership: Develop and place op-eds, keynote scripts, and social content with Crusoe's spokespeople to establish the company as a leader in AI infrastructure development. - Issues Management: Monitor media and community landscapes, coordinating timely strategic responses to industry shifts, local dynamics, and challenges to protect brand and reputation. - Agency Management: Oversee PR agency relationships day-to-day, setting priorities, holding teams accountable, and deploying resources to highest-value opportunities. - Measurement: Own communications reporting, tracking coverage, share of voice, and program outcomes to continuously improve strategy and demonstrate impact. The role requires mastery of messaging and storytelling, a roll-up-your-sleeves execution approach, and meticulous attention to detail. You will view generative AI as a core part of your toolkit, leveraging modern AI agents and tools to scale impact and sharpen output. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years in communications or public relations with demonstrated track record of securing press results at top-tier outlets - AI-first mindset: daily integration of AI into workflows (agents, LLMs for research and drafting), adoption of emerging tools - Domain expertise strongly preferred: experience in data center construction/development, energy, infrastructure, real estate, or AI industries - Proven media relations expertise with real, working relationships with journalists and influencers; ability to pitch, place, and protect narratives independently - Exceptional writing ability with nuance, clarity, and human insight - High agency: comfortable executing with limited resources and high ambiguity; proactively identifies opportunities and builds plans without waiting for roadmap - Collaborative and low-ego: builds trust across functions (DIG, Energy, Real Estate, Public Affairs, Legal) and moves fast without friction - Results-oriented and metrics-driven with track record of turning communications efforts into measurable business outcomes
