Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Events Manager to own the company's event strategy and execution across the Americas, spanning both sponsored events (booth presence, speaking sessions, sponsorships, activations) and fully hosted events (conferences, summits, executive forums, workshops, roadshows).
You will set the strategic direction for how Cloudflare shows up at major industry stages in security, infrastructure, and developer technology. This role bridges marketing and sales, ensuring the field organization understands event strategy, can activate effectively, and converts presence into pipeline and revenue.
Key responsibilities include:
**Event Strategy & Portfolio:** Own end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution for Cloudflare's Tier 1 event portfolio. Build and manage the annual event portfolio, prioritization framework, and budget. Define clear objectives for each event (brand, demand, pipeline, customer expansion) and align cross-functional teams.
**Hosted Events:** Lead complex, multifaceted hosted event programs from concept through post-event follow-up. Design the full attendee experience (content, venue, production/AV, registration, on-site operations). Build cross-functional teams and manage agencies, vendors, speakers, and stakeholders. Own budgets, timelines, and risk plans.
**Sponsored Presence:** Lead booth strategy and experience design on expo floors. Drive thought leadership through speaker submissions, keynote content, executive briefings, and customer story placement. Negotiate sponsorships and design activations that stand out.
**Sales Activation:** Build and run field activation motions for every Tier 1 show and hosted event. Equip AEs, SDRs, SEs, and CSMs with pre-event outreach templates, at-show playbooks, demo scripts, and meeting concierge services. Drive target account registrations and attendance for hosted events. Partner with Sales Operations and Marketing Operations on lead capture, routing, and attribution.
**Impact & Optimization:** Define and report on KPIs (pipeline influenced, meetings booked, leads captured, registration, attendance, brand lift, speaker slots). Manage vendor and agency relationships, contracts, and budgets across multiple simultaneous events. Approach work with an AI-native mindset, building lightweight tools and automations to streamline operations, lead processing, enablement, and reporting. Run retrospectives after major shows and turn learnings into improved playbooks.
**Requirements:**
- 7+ years in event marketing, experiential marketing, or field marketing, with deep experience owning both hosted and sponsored events end-to-end
- Proven track record leading complex, high-budget event programs ($1M+ annual budgets), including producing hosted events and running sponsorships, booth builds, and executive programming at third-party conferences
- Strong sales-enablement instinct with demonstrated ability to activate field teams, drive pre-event pipeline, and tie events to attributable revenue
- Exceptional organizational skills to run multiple events simultaneously with competing timelines, budgets, and stakeholders
- Experience managing agencies and developing junior marketers
- Agility and comfort shifting between hosted and sponsored programs as calendar demands
- Experience working with AI tools (OpenCode, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to build solutions, automate workflows, and solve problems
- Natural curiosity about people, products, processes, and technologies with ability to ask insightful questions
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership; comfortable aligning product, sales, brand, PR, and executive stakeholders
- Sharp budget management, vendor negotiation, and agency management skills
- Data-driven mindset; comfortable with Salesforce, marketing automation, and lead routing/attribution
- Bias for action and willingness to experiment with new approaches, tactics, and channels
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience in B2B security, infrastructure, cloud, or developer-facing marketing
- Familiarity with events like RSA Conference, Black Hat, AWS re:Invent, Gartner summits, and similar Tier 1 shows
- Experience producing both in-person and hybrid/virtual events, including broadcast/streaming production
