As Senior Engineering Manager of Growth Engineering, you will lead a strategically critical team responsible for user acquisition, activation, and retention across the entire Handshake ecosystem. This role owns a cross-product growth platform that serves as a foundational lever for company-wide growth, requiring close collaboration with Product, Data Science, and Marketing teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and scaling a high-performing growth engineering team through hiring, development, and leadership capacity building
- Owning the full growth funnel: acquisition, activation, retention, and notification systems
- Designing scalable, extensible growth platform infrastructure that enables rapid experimentation, personalization, and lifecycle targeting
- Driving technical strategy and architecture for reliability, performance, and speed-to-ship
- Partnering cross-functionally to align growth strategy and execution
- Establishing engineering excellence standards around observability, experimentation rigor, and data integrity
- Operating with ownership and velocity in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment
Required qualifications: 4+ years managing engineering teams, 5+ years hands-on engineering experience, proven track record owning growth or platform systems, strong people leadership with experience developing senior engineers, ability to execute in ambiguity and deliver iteratively.
Nice-to-have experience includes experimentation platforms, A/B testing infrastructure, personalization systems, lifecycle marketing infrastructure, growth analytics, and two-sided marketplace or consumer product backgrounds.
