Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and mission-critical systems up to 10x faster at significantly lower cost. The company recently closed a $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding manufacturing capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, and additive manufacturing.
The Data Platform team owns the infrastructure path from physical and software systems that generate data to teams and products that use it. This includes ingestion and CDC, event streaming, warehouse and lakehouse, orchestration, data contracts, quality, lineage, and foundational data models supporting Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, ML, and operational software. The stack includes Snowflake, Iceberg on S3, PeerDB, Redpanda/Kafka, Dagster, dbt, Kubernetes, and protobuf/gRPC. Data sources range from conventional software systems to CNC machines, inspection equipment, PLCs, engineering files, and the factory floor.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will build and lead the team responsible for making this platform reliable, coherent, and useful as Hadrian scales to many factories. You own the people, execution, operating quality, and direction of the team while staying technically close enough to challenge architecture, understand failure modes, and help engineers make good tradeoffs.
Key responsibilities include: building the team and platform that becomes Hadrian's data backbone; owning the Data Platform roadmap and delivery by turning ambiguous cross-functional needs into clear priorities and commitments; raising the operational bar for reliability, data-quality SLAs, observability, incident response, and cost; partnering with senior engineers on architecture decisions across CDC, streaming, warehousing, orchestration, and data contracts; turning repeated one-off work into paved roads through standards and tooling; and hiring and growing an exceptional team with clear technical bars and real ownership.
You should have a track record leading engineers responsible for production data infrastructure, distributed systems, developer platforms, or similarly critical technical systems, with experience leading multiple substantial workstreams or teams and developing senior technical leaders. Strong technical judgment in modern data and platform systems is essential, including event streaming, CDC, warehouses, lakehouses, orchestration, schema evolution, and distributed-system failure modes. Experience building for environments with real constraints—hardware, machines, devices, edge environments—is valuable. You should have a platform mindset focused on shared abstractions, contracts, ownership, and paved roads, plus an operator's mindset understanding system health, failure modes, and incident-to-improvement cycles. Strong people leadership and high agency across organizational boundaries are critical.
