Verkada is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale an established engineering team focused on business systems infrastructure. The role balances new product development with a strong emphasis on resilience, reliability, and high uptime—critical for distributed financial systems serving a global customer base of 30,000+ organizations, including 100+ Fortune 500 companies.
You will provide strategic technical direction to raise the bar on reliability, scalability, and availability of Verkada's global infrastructure. Key responsibilities include managing cross-functional collaboration with orders, supply chain, finance, and go-to-market teams to drive critical business initiatives with high quality. You'll mentor engineers on architecture decisions through tech spec reviews, balance stakeholder requirements on latency, and work with different organizations to build future roadmaps alongside evolving business processes.
The team owns a partner-facing product, requiring close collaboration with product managers and GTM teams. You'll be responsible for building and leading the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and performance management.
Required qualifications: 4+ years managing and leading engineering teams (hiring, retention, performance management); 10+ years software engineering experience with proven technical leadership in designing scalable, reliable solutions; CS/IT degree or equivalent; proficiency in Python or Go with backend development expertise; strong agile and project management skills; excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication.
Nice-to-have skills include Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, NetSuite/ERP experience, executive-level roadmap presentation experience, and hands-on leadership in high-growth platform teams.
