Salary: USD 153,000 - 222,000 / annual
Applied Intuition is seeking a Senior Engineer to own and maintain the HD maps platform end-to-end. The company, valued at $15 billion and founded in 2017, provides digital infrastructure for physical AI across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture sectors. Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers and the US military rely on Applied Intuition's solutions.
In this role, you will lead HD maps implementation and own related feature areas across all products. You'll define the map storage format to handle more features and distribute map data, focusing on UIs, data pipelines, storage, and SDKs. Collaboration with both internal engineers and external customers on existing and future designs is central to the position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading HD maps implementation across the product suite
- Defining and evolving map storage formats for scalability and feature richness
- Owning data pipeline and distribution architecture
- Collaborating with engineers and customers on design and feature development
- Building software components that address real-world mapping and localization challenges
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicles or simulation products
- Experience building software components or subsystems for mapping and localization
- Working knowledge of C++ and/or Python
Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale with offices globally (Washington DC, San Diego, London, Stuttgart, Munich, Stockholm, Bangalore, Seoul, Tokyo). The company operates primarily in-office (5 days/week) with flexibility for occasional remote work and schedule adjustments.
