The company operates an in-house transportation network and has saved over 190 million pounds of food from waste. The Senior Director, Lifecycle Marketing & Retention reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and serves as a member of the Leadership Team. This role is responsible for shaping customer engagement, retention, and growth strategies that maximize customer lifetime value and strengthen long-term loyalty. Key responsibilities include leading and developing a high-performing Lifecycle Marketing team, defining and executing lifecycle marketing strategy across owned channels, and serving as the company's leader for customer retention. You will partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Brand, Merchandising, Data, Finance, Operations, and Customer Care to influence customer experiences and align priorities. The role involves developing innovative lifecycle strategies leveraging customer segmentation, personalization, and automation, building a culture of experimentation through testing and learning, and translating customer data into strategic insights for executive leadership. You will define the Lifecycle Marketing roadmap, influence cross-functional priorities, and continuously improve marketing capabilities and processes. Success requires excellent communication skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, and strong executive presence. Ideal candidates bring 12–15 years of lifecycle marketing, CRM, retention marketing, or related customer marketing experience, with at least 5 years leading high-performing teams. You should have proven success developing retention strategies in high-growth DTC or e-commerce businesses, deep expertise in customer lifecycle management, segmentation, personalization, and experimentation, and exceptional analytical skills. Experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and customer data platforms (CDPs) is required; Braze experience is preferred. Startup and high-growth e-commerce experience is strongly preferred, with subscription business experience as a plus.
