Vir Biotechnology, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Clinical Pharmacology to lead the technical and operational aspects of the Clinical Pharmacology and Translational PK/PD department. This role supports drug development programs across infectious disease and oncology indications, including chronic hepatitis delta and dual-masked T-cell engagers using the proprietary PRO-XTEN® platform. You will oversee clinical pharmacology operations and deliverables across all development stages, serving as the technical expert on cross-functional project teams. Key responsibilities include developing fit-for-purpose clinical pharmacology strategies from pre-IND through market authorization, selecting and executing PK/PD modeling and simulation approaches (including PopPK and exposure-response modeling) to inform dose selection and optimization, and authoring technical input for regulatory documents (protocols, IBs, INDs, NDAs/BLAs). You will collaborate extensively with clinical research, clinical operations, biomarkers, bioanalytical, biometrics, CMC, research, and regulatory teams. Additional responsibilities include establishing and managing external vendor and partner collaborations, generating and managing departmental budgets, and building and developing the Clinical Pharmacology team through hiring, mentoring, and capability development. Reporting to the VP of Translational Development, you will bring 13+ years of industry experience in clinical pharmacology, DMPK, or related fields, with a PhD, PharmD, or MD. Required expertise includes mastery of nonclinical and clinical pharmacokinetic concepts, deep understanding of multidisciplinary drug development, and strong regulatory knowledge. Experience with biologics (monoclonal antibodies and bispecifics) is required; oncology experience is strongly preferred. You must demonstrate proven ability to manage and develop teams, proficiency with standard PK analysis software, and working knowledge of bioanalytical techniques for small molecules and biologics.
