Cellanome is a well-funded biotech startup tackling major challenges in biology through advanced computational and engineering approaches. The Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence will lead the company's AI and ML initiatives, which are integral to the platform's operation and represent a key strategic priority.
This is a leadership role within the Computational Biology team, responsible for designing, developing, training, and productizing cutting-edge deep learning models—particularly in image processing for segmentation, classification, and feature extraction tasks. The role involves researching and developing models that integrate paired imaging and transcriptomic data from the same cells, a critical capability for understanding cellular biology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop infrastructure for tracking model learning and performance
- Lead AI/ML efforts across multiple operational aspects of the platform
- Identify and pursue future opportunities to leverage AI and ML to advance company goals
- Provide leadership and vision while remaining hands-on in implementation
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Software Engineering, and Product Development teams across both research and product development programs
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in deep learning, computer vision, and machine learning infrastructure, with the ability to translate cutting-edge research into production systems.
