Salary: USD 160,000 - 210,000 / annual
Efficient Computer is developing ultra-low-power general-purpose processors that consume 100x less energy than state-of-the-art alternatives, enabling perpetual AI/ML inference on AA batteries for 5-10 years. The company is seeking an experienced Senior Design Verification Engineer to lead functional verification of complex SoC and IP designs from specification through tapeout on a newly formed verification team.
You will drive the complete verification lifecycle for multi-million-gate ASIC/SoC designs, owning testbench architecture, constrained-random verification methodology, and coverage closure to tapeout sign-off. This role offers significant influence over product development and verification processes as the company scales from initial stages to volume production.
Required qualifications include 10+ years of progressive ASIC/SoC design verification experience with multiple full-cycle ownership, deep expertise in UVM and SystemVerilog, strong C/C++ modeling and verification skills, and proven ability to drive functional and code coverage on complex designs. You must demonstrate excellent debug skills for complex simulation failures, proficiency in Python for test automation and regression flow development, and clear communication of verification risk and status to technical and leadership stakeholders.
Stand-out candidates bring formal verification experience (JasperGold or equivalent), familiarity with AI agentic flows for design verification, software/firmware testing experience working with pre-silicon teams, post-silicon validation background, SoC architecture knowledge (processors, interconnects, memory controllers, DMA engines), and power-aware verification expertise with UPF.
The role is based in San Jose, Pittsburgh, or Austin with in-office presence.
