Cloudsmith is seeking a Senior Developer Relations Engineer to serve as the technical champion and public face of the company within the open source and developer communities. This role combines technical expertise with community building, content creation, and ecosystem partnership development.
Key responsibilities include building Cloudsmith's presence across CNCF, open source projects, developer forums, and industry events. You will represent the company at conferences and meetups as both attendee and speaker, develop community engagement programs including talks and workshops, and cultivate relationships with open source maintainers and technical influencers. You'll track community health metrics and report on how community work connects to pipeline and brand goals.
On the technical content side, you will produce product videos, demos, how-to guides, and technical blog posts. You'll serve as a subject matter expert on open source standards and software supply chain security, speak at webinars, and engage with media outlets. You'll also contribute to open source tools and sample applications that support the Cloudsmith ecosystem.
Required experience includes strong background in DevOps, package management, CI/CD pipelines, and software supply chain tools. You should have a proven track record building or growing developer communities, contributing to open source projects, and producing clear technical content across multiple formats. The ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences is essential. Public speaking experience and an existing personal audience in the developer/open source space (blog, Twitter, YouTube, newsletter) is highly valued.
