Okta is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to empower developers to better secure their applications with Auth0, a leading customer identity and access management (CIAM) platform that secures over 100 million logins daily.
In this role, you will serve as the face of Auth0 to the global developer community, with a special focus on startups. You'll combine technical expertise with community engagement to drive adoption and advocate for developer needs within the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
Outbound Advocacy: Represent Auth0 at industry conferences, webinars, and events. Create high-quality technical content including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and hands-on labs. Build and nurture relationships with influential developers and customers.
Internal Advocacy: Collaborate with Product and Architecture teams to represent developer perspectives. Review early-stage documentation, SDKs, and product capabilities. Gather developer feedback and insights to inform product development, API improvements, and feature enhancements.
You should have a technical background in application development and IT operations, with hands-on experience deploying and configuring software tools. Strong communication skills are essential—you excel at translating complex technology concepts into clear, intuitive explanations. You're a strong independent contributor who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience as a Developer Advocate, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Customer Success Manager. Familiarity with authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP), web/mobile/IoT application development, REST/GraphQL APIs, and experience with startups or SaaS developers is highly valued.
This role requires 30% or more travel to engage with developer communities globally.
