Scale's Data Analytics team is centralized, embedding analysts across delivery, operations, finance, and engineering to transform ambiguous problems into actionable insights. As a Senior Data Analyst for Public Sector, you will build analytics solutions from the ground up, partnering with cross-functional teams and leadership to solve complex problems, design dashboards, build data models, and perform ad-hoc analyses that shape how Scale's Public Sector business operates and measures success.
Key responsibilities include owning data quality for your domain by documenting models, troubleshooting discrepancies, and establishing centralized metric definitions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, define, and track key metrics used in monitoring, planning, and decision-making. You will develop repeatable, scalable analytical solutions such as dashboards, data models, and standard processes. You'll partner with Operations to identify and track efficiency initiatives, measuring their impact on cost, quality, and delivery outcomes. You'll also partner with Finance to analyze cost drivers across programs and inform pricing strategy. The role requires willingness to deep-dive into messy details to reach root causes and the ability to initiate and drive complex projects to completion with minimal guidance.
Required qualifications include 6+ years of relevant work experience, advanced SQL skills, and experience with data modeling tools such as DBT. You should have demonstrated expertise building dashboards and reports with BI tools like Tableau or Metabase. Strong business acumen and comfort partnering directly with cross-functional stakeholders is essential, along with excellent communication skills to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable narratives. You must be comfortable with ambiguity in fast-moving environments and able to make sound trade-offs. Active Secret U.S. security clearance is required; Top Secret clearance is preferred. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with air-gapped/federal environments and prior experience supporting Business Operations with exposure to process analytics or workflow optimization.
