Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor and primary architect of the customer journey for enterprise clients in the Southwest region. You will bridge technical strategy and business value, guiding major customers from pre-sales technical validation through onboarding, deployment architecture, and lifecycle expansion.
As a quota-carrying technologist within the GTM organization, you will own the entire customer relationship rather than handing off after initial agreement. You will leverage AI-augmented workflows to eliminate administrative overhead and focus on high-value architectural design and measurable business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Technical Validation: Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, capture business requirements, and map complex customer infrastructure (DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, Network Security, Workers) to Cloudflare solutions. Define PoC scope, success criteria, and evaluation plans. Deliver tailored technical presentations, architectural diagrams, and demonstrations addressing performance, security, and reliability challenges. Proactively address technical objections, compliance questions, and edge-case requirements. Ensure suitable deployment strategy is integral to all proposals.
- Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Provide oversight of technical onboarding and implementation (not execution), serving as primary executive and engineering contact. Design structured migration and onboarding blueprints tailored to customer environments. Act as lead consultant for customer engineering teams. Partner with Account Executives on discovery, demos, onboarding, technical health, risk assessment, and expansion strategy. Proactively monitor customer health and drive adoption of additional Cloudflare products.
- Expansion & Retention: Identify expansion opportunities across Cloudflare's product portfolio. Build deep technical relationships with customer engineering and security teams. Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues. Contribute to customer success metrics and retention.
You will work with major enterprise accounts in the Southwest region (Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego) with distributed flexibility. The role requires deep technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, security, and networking, combined with strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
