Skydio is seeking a Senior Curriculum Developer to architect the future of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) training for critical defense and industrial applications. This role owns the instructional backbone of Skydio's pilot and technician training programs, spanning classroom, self-paced, simulation, and immersive learning modalities. Key responsibilities include conducting job and task analyses on complex autonomous flight systems, defining performance-based learning objectives, designing assessments and certification paths, and sequencing content across multiple delivery modalities. You will translate sophisticated technical systems into structured learning paths and partner with Learning Experience Developers, software engineers, simulation developers, and subject matter experts to shape Skydio's training ecosystem. You'll design assessments and practical evaluations that measure real operational capability, enable instructors through facilitator guides and train-the-trainer materials, and expand the use of Skydio Paraverse (the company's simulation platform) across curricula. The role includes establishing scalable curriculum standards, templates, and revision workflows; applying AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development and localization; and defining learning effectiveness measures to iterate on curriculum quality. Required qualifications: BA/BS in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or Adult Education (or equivalent); 7+ years designing and developing curriculum for educational, instructional, or technical training programs; demonstrated expertise in instructional systems design (task analysis, objective writing, assessment design, evaluation); experience building curriculum for complex technical products; working knowledge of adult learning principles and performance-based training; strong portfolio of curriculum artifacts; and excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills. Preferred experience includes aviation, aerospace, robotics, defense, or autonomous systems; designing curriculum for regulated/certification-driven environments (FAA Part 107, military standards); scenario-based or simulator-based learning design; immersive learning technologies (XR, simulation, digital twins); LMS administration and standards (SCORM, xAPI, cmi5); AI-assisted instructional design workflows; geospatial visualization; and train-the-trainer program scaling.
