Inversion Space is building advanced reentry systems to deliver payloads anywhere on Earth in under an hour. The company is transforming Low-Earth Orbit into an on-demand logistics domain, backed by Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, and partnering with the U.S. Space Force and NASA.
As Senior Content Producer, you will serve as Inversion's internal documentarian and visual storyteller, capturing the company's work and sharing it with the world. You will be embedded with engineers, operators, and teams designing, building, testing, and flying spacecraft, with extraordinary access to document the story as it unfolds.
Your responsibilities span the full production lifecycle: developing concepts, planning shoots, operating cameras, directing, photographing, editing, color grading, mixing sound, and delivering finished work. You will own Inversion's visual storytelling across all channels—social media, web, recruiting, sales, press, and events. Content types include social posts, technical explainers, product photography, employee stories, test coverage, and documentary-style films.
You will travel to test sites, launches, and remote locations to capture critical moments. One week you might photograph engineers integrating flight hardware in Los Angeles; the next, you could be at a remote test site covering a major vehicle test. You'll also build and maintain Inversion's visual archive and equipment, creating an organized record of people, hardware, milestones, and even failures for future reference.
The role requires raising the creative bar, defining Inversion's visual style, and continually finding better ways to tell complex technical stories in compelling, accessible ways.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional experience producing photo and video content
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional photography, cinematography, editing, and storytelling
- Excellent technical command of cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, composition, and field production
- Strong editing and post-production skills (pacing, color, sound, music, story structure)
- Experience owning productions from concept through shoot, edit, and final delivery
- Ability to work independently and create exceptional content without large crews or perfect conditions
- Strong instincts for working with people on camera and capturing authentic, unscripted moments
- Highly organized; able to manage equipment, footage, files, and schedules
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable in fast-moving technical and industrial environments
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work nights/weekends around tests, launches, and milestones
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience creating content in aerospace, defense, aviation, automotive, manufacturing, motorsports, or other hardware-driven environments
- Experience with drone, remote camera, or specialized field-production setups
- Experience with motion graphics, animation, or VFX
- Fluency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and similar professional production tools
- Genuine curiosity about aerospace, engineering, technology, and the people who build it
