Mercury is a fintech platform providing banking, treasury, and financial workflow solutions for startups and technology companies. The Stories team is seeking a Senior Content Marketer to lead the development and execution of educational and informational content for founders and entrepreneurs.
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of Mercury's educational blog, from content planning and assignment through editing, publishing, and optimization. You'll write, edit, and package exceptional content across blogs, newsletters, campaigns, and strategic initiatives. A key responsibility is managing freelancers and agency partners to scale content production while maintaining quality standards.
You'll partner closely with SEO, product marketing, communications, design, and other teams to identify opportunities and maximize content reach and impact. You'll use performance data and audience insights to inform editorial strategy, identify growth opportunities, and guide smart investment decisions. The role also involves leveraging AI and modern content tools to improve research, editing, and production workflows.
This is a senior individual contributor position in a remote-first, async environment. You'll bring structure and scalability to the content program while maintaining high editorial standards and a strong marketing mindset.
Required qualifications: 8+ years in content marketing, content strategy, editorial, or related field. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a track record of elevating other writers' work. Proven success leading a blog, newsletter, publication, or similarly scaled editorial program. Experience managing freelancers and external contributors. Strong command of business, entrepreneurship, and finance topics with ability to make them engaging and accessible. Editorial judgment paired with marketing instinct for audience, distribution, and impact.
