Scape is a Swedish game studio of ~30 people, fully remote by choice, launching Gravity on Steam Early Access—a precision climbing game where 100 players share one server. The senior team has shipped live games at Arrowhead (Helldivers 2), Avalanche Studios, and Ubisoft. Gravity is designed to be clipped, streamed, and shared, with Asia Pacific as a key audience. You are the first community person in Asia Pacific, building and running the player community from its first thousand members. You report to the Lead Community Manager (who owns global player community) and work daily with the Lead Commercial Manager (who owns creator and clipper relationships). Greater China is the priority market; Japan and Korea are next. You will own: the Greater China community across channels (Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and others), Chinese-language presence on Steam (discussions, reviews, store text), Japan and Korea through a volunteer moderator program you recruit and run, day-to-day communication with the clipper and creator network, creator events and play sessions in prime time, live sessions (AMAs, Q&As, play nights) in Chinese and English, and daily monitoring for fast-growing problems with judgment on what to escalate. You are fluent in spoken Mandarin and write Simplified Chinese. You know the Chinese platform landscape from the inside—Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Heybox, WeChat, QQ, Steam—including account onboarding, enterprise verification, real-name requirements, and content-review regimes. You have run community for a live multiplayer game through launch or real growth and can articulate what broke. You are based in Asia Pacific outside mainland China. You are fluent in English (the working language) and write fast and well in both languages. You understand creator culture firsthand, including how agencies and MCNs work. You are comfortable on camera and hosting live in Chinese and English. You have run moderators or volunteer teams, ideally across a language you did not speak. You stay calm when something blows up at 23:00 on a weekend and work the region's prime time with a fixed daily overlap window with the Central Europe team. Evenings around events are part of the work. Helpful but not required: Traditional Chinese writing, Japanese or Korean reading, proximity to China's time zone. Scape offers a market to build from its first thousand members, a game designed to produce shareable moments, a creator program, and marketing framework already in place. The team is self-motivated, remote by choice, and flexible. No timesheets or theatre—everyone owns their part and is supported when needed. Gravity is heading to Steam with everything ahead of it. Joining now means building something with real potential to become big and being one of the people it belongs to. Full-time, long-term contract. Remote, based in Asia Pacific outside mainland China, working the region's prime time. REQUIREMENTS: - Fluent in spoken Mandarin; write Simplified Chinese - Deep knowledge of Chinese platform landscape (Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Heybox, WeChat, QQ, Steam) including account onboarding, enterprise verification, real-name requirements, content-review regimes - Proven experience running community for a live multiplayer game through launch or significant growth period - Based in Asia Pacific outside mainland China - Fluent in English; write fast and well in both English and Chinese - Firsthand understanding of creator culture and MCN/agency relationships - Comfortable on camera; able to host live sessions in Chinese and English - Experience running moderators or volunteer teams, ideally across language barriers - Ability to remain calm under pressure (e.g., issues at off-hours) - Availability to work region's prime time with fixed daily overlap with Central Europe team HELPFUL (NOT REQUIRED): - Traditional Chinese writing ability - Japanese or Korean reading ability - Location close to China time zone
