Anyscale is building the commercial platform around Ray, an open-source distributed computing framework used by OpenAI, Uber, Spotify, Instacart, and Cruise to power AI and ML workloads at scale. The company has raised $250+ million from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and NEA.
As Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will own the security posture of Anyscale's production and cloud infrastructure, reporting to the Head of Security. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role with significant autonomy and influence over infrastructure security strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning security across AWS and Azure production environments, including hardening, network segmentation, and tenant isolation
- Implementing runtime security coverage across Kubernetes environments, from deployment through anomaly detection
- Partnering with engineering on secure infrastructure architecture and production environment design
- Managing cloud security posture end-to-end: triaging findings, prioritizing issues, and driving remediation
- Defining and enforcing cloud infrastructure security standards, including baseline configurations, infrastructure-as-code security, and secrets management
- Implementing fine-grained, role-based access controls for production systems
- Contributing infrastructure security findings to vulnerability management and risk reporting
You will bring 8+ years of security engineering experience with deep expertise in cloud and infrastructure security, ideally from a high-growth startup. You need hands-on proficiency with multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and identity/access management. Experience with CSPM and runtime security tooling is essential, as is the ability to work directly with engineers on architecture and remediation.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience securing multi-tenant production systems, familiarity with platforms like Upwind, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance work, and background in AI/ML or distributed systems platforms.
