The Senior Business Systems Specialist will serve as the technical and functional subject matter expert for the company's core business systems, including NetSuite (ERP), Coupa (procurement), and retail/marketplace integrations. This role bridges finance, operations, and engineering to architect, implement, and maintain scalable financial and operational systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as NetSuite SME, providing guidance on system architecture, data integrity, and financial systems best practices
- Architect and maintain advanced dashboards, saved searches, and custom reports in NetSuite and BI tools (Looker, Sigma) for real-time financial and inventory visibility
- Gather cross-functional requirements and lead the architecture, implementation, and support of scalable technical solutions, including full system implementations
- Collaborate with engineering on custom solutions within and adjacent to financial systems
- Own the order-to-cash systems architecture for retail and marketplace channels
- Analyze existing systems to identify inefficiencies and drive implementation of automated, scalable solutions
- Implement automation and workflow optimizations using SuiteFlow, SuiteScript, and custom integrations
- Contribute to the financial tooling roadmap with respect to stability, scalability, and future needs
- Manage system configurations, role permissions, and upgrade cycles; coordinate testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
- Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials
- Lead enablement sessions and provide hands-on training to finance, operations, and business users
The company emphasizes a collaborative, cross-functional culture oriented around customer problems and impact rather than departmental silos. The role requires working in-office 4-5 days per week at the SoHo office.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience operating in and maintaining financial tools
- Deep experience integrating NetSuite with third-party tools and managing complex data pipelines into and out of an ERP
- Advanced familiarity with multiple of the following: ERP systems, payment processors, transportation management systems, procure-to-pay platforms, iPaaS, tax software, demand planning tools
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including SuiteScript (SuiteScript 2.x), SuiteFlow, SuiteAnalytics/saved searches, and customizing records, forms, and workflows
- Experience building and maintaining API integrations (REST/SOAP), including authentication, error handling, and data mapping between systems
- Familiarity with EDI standards and marketplace integration requirements for various retailers
- Demonstrated SQL skills for querying, validating, and troubleshooting data across integrated systems; understanding of data structures and schema design to maintain integrity across connected platforms
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and basic scripting (JavaScript, Python) for automation and integration support
- Skilled communicator able to absorb and distill complexity into simple terms to drive decision-making
- Owner mentality with expert-level problem-solving skills, effective task prioritization, strong attention to detail, and focus on efficiency
