Distro is seeking a Senior Benefits Compliance Specialist to serve as an internal subject matter expert on employee benefits regulatory compliance. This is a non-client-facing role supporting the Benefits Administration team and internal stakeholders with complex compliance research, regulatory monitoring, and audit support. You will own hands-on compliance responsibilities across ACA reporting (1094-C/1095-C), ERISA interpretation, Form 5500 filings for PEO Master Benefit Plans, Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage disclosures, and state-specific requirements (including Massachusetts HIRD). Key activities include monitoring federal and state regulatory changes, conducting periodic compliance audits, maintaining compliance calendars and documentation, reviewing benefit plan documents and SPDs for accuracy, and generating compliance reports from HR/benefits systems. You will research complex benefits compliance questions, translate regulatory requirements into clear internal guidance, coordinate with carriers, TPAs, auditors, and legal counsel, and train internal team members on compliance requirements. You'll also support open enrollment activities from a compliance perspective and manage special compliance projects and regulatory initiatives. This role requires onsite presence in Duluth, GA for secure system access, collaboration, and sensitive compliance work. The ideal candidate is an individual contributor or senior specialist who enjoys deep regulatory work, data accuracy, and solving complex compliance issues—not a traditional benefits administrator or client-facing benefits role.
